Kate Johnson leads a team that partners with executives, directors, managers, and staff. Together, they strategize and create content to keep 800+ employees across 28 offices informed, engaged and connected with the firm’s mission and vision.
Kate graduated with honors from Wright State University, with a degree in mass communication and a certificate in professional and technical writing. She currently leads employee communications programs and specializes in industry-leading communication strategies and tactics. In 2014, Kate played a lead role in the development and launch of the company’s first social intranet, which opened the door to fostering regular two-way internal communication firmwide. Kate believes in establishing a balance between company goals and employee empowerment and happiness. Using the company’s Great Place to Work data and feedback, she creates impactful communication plans to address those needs. Kate also has implemented several channels through which employees and firm leaders can better connect and understand each other, increase efficiencies and build trust. Kate has facilitated several presentations for Woolpert employees regarding communications—most recently, a leadership coaching series to managers on their role as communication champions. She currently is an associate shareholder at Woolpert, the premier international architecture, engineering and geospatial (AEG) firm.
Woolpert was founded in 1911, is privately owned and is on a trajectory to double its employees and revenue within the next five years.
